Call for art

The Paolo Mejia Art Gallery and Design Studio with the collaboration of Jack London Square Realty are looking for guest artists to take part in our February/March art show entitled “Out of the Fringes” with the theme of African American culture/heritage month in mind. We are looking for artists that can share their view/perspective of African American life and culture in the Bay Area, and how that is translated, relayed or portrayed in art form. The art call is open to everyone.

Submission guidelines:

  • Send up to 10 images of work that is consistent of your style.
  • A list of info for the images (ie. Title and medium)
  • A small statement about how your work relate to African American culture/heritage.
  • A website that we can check out. (If you have one.)

Deadline: CLOSED

All files should be emailed to paolomejia(@hotmail.com. The show will be up from February through the end of March. The gallery will contact you if you are accepted to take part in the group show.

Invitation to an Art Fair this November

The Paolo Mejia Art Gallery and Design Studio is inviting everyone to attend an art fair that we will be holding this November at our annex gallery on Union Street. The art fair will be showcasing local artists, and they will be selling their original artwork to attendees and visitors. Come pass by Caffe Union this November, see, purchase, and participate in a fun and festive night.

The Paolo Mejia Art Gallery and Design Studio is searching for Filipino, Filipino-American, or Filipino descent artists to participate in our upcoming October group art show. The art show entitled “Home Grown…the Filipino Experience” will show the versatility and creativeness of local Filipino Bay Area artists, and to highlight this group of artists with it’s common background in their culture and tradition. This group art show will also coincide with the Filipino culture celebration this coming October. For submission email us below with up to 10 sampler of what you do best that represent you, the Filipino culture, it’s outlook and way of life.

CALL FOR ART – “CUT and paste”

The Paolo Mejia Art Gallery and Design Studio is seeking artwork that relates to the theme “CUT and paste”. If you have any work that is collaged traditionally or digitally submit to participate for the show. We are looking for creative and original way of presenting artwork that relate to the topic of cutting and pasting.

For submission:

  • Send up to ten (10) clear images(JPEG, TIFF, PDF) for consideration to paolomejia@hotmail.com (Files NO bigger than 2M)
  • Attach a separate itemization list that corresponds to pictures/images (ie. title, dimension, medium)
  • A brief Bio/artist statement 
  • A link to portfolio/website

CALL FOR ART: “Figure It Out! ” – a figurative group art show

sampleThe Paolo Mejia Art Gallery and Design Studio is proud to announce our June group art show. We are searching for artists to submit samples of any figurative artwork that deals with the human figure, whether abstract, expressionistic, life studies or even stylistic works. The goal of the show is to show the beauty of the human figure and how it can be interpreted by artists in any styles or perspective however they can.

For submission:

Art Call for April “Small Art” Group Show

SMALL art group showThis month of April, the Paolo Mejia Art Gallery and Design Studio is seeking emerging artists for its first “Small Art” group show. We are looking for art pieces up to 14″ x 14″ in any medium. Artists are encouraged to submit strong pieces that best represent who you are and what you do. For submission see guidelines below.

Submission guidelines:

  • Submit up to 10 pieces for consideration. Label such as: (ie. Artist_name_title.image). Images should not be more than 2MB.
  • Art pieces must be NO bigger than 14″ x 14″ for consideration.
  • Any medium is allowed. (For sculptures it must be no bigger than 14″ x 14″ x 14″.)
  • Submit a separate .doc file for the list of art being submitted in. (Please indicate by numbering the info that corresponds to the image file.)

Sales:
