Artist Bio
Reynaldo Cayetano Jr is a Filipino Immigrant who came to the United States in 1993 with his family. He moved to a vibrant Filipino-American community in the South of Market, 6th Street corridor. Rey is a black and white film photographer, with focus on street, candid, and environmental portraits.
Rey started Inks of Truth in 2009, a group of artists with goals to empower individual and community through art, using artist partnerships to streamline talent, resources, and network toward a collective market.
Artist Statement
The compilation of photographs is works from various visits to the Philippines. As a born Filipino, being raised in San Francisco, there were always shifts in values, ethics, culture, mannerisms, and more. Photography has been a mediator with unbiased prose. The photos represent family, morals, and connectivity.
