Finding strength in the layering of materials to create this robust surface to paint on has always been a very important part of Anthony Anchundo‘s process. It is here that it all really starts. Layers of memories past set down to make something new, something reborn.
Anthony’s paintings are simply glimpses of his days gone by. Stories told and untold in a stroke of the brush or push of the paint on the surface of the canvas. He tries to create a piece of work that immediately grabs the attention with hopes of creating a desire to know more. A piece that asks the audience to engage with it – to contemplate it’s voice – ultimately giving the viewer something to interpret for themselves without words spoken.
