Jerry Frost‘s artistic journey is a process which allows him to express many levels of his life through color, texture and illusion of atmosphere on a two dimensional surface. Pushing and pulling the paint to a place of comprehensive completion is always his goal.
When Jerry Frost was asked to take part of “Elegies” group art show, he first thought how to take his automatic process of abstract painting to fit this theme? Then he realized “hell there is no problem” because when he does his paintings many emotions are stirred, especially the thought of death and spirits and beyond. In fact, when he paints he always feel there are many other powers to be that are part of this process, it is just not about himself and paint. It is about opening up to the universe, opening up to a language that transcend regular communication. Jerry Frost finds myself in constant communications with people that have passed and he finds himself asking for directions from that place.
Jerry Frost feels that the 2 paintings chosen for this exhibition show the dance of the universe and the dance of life and death in very emotional ways. The painting “Hostage” shows the reshaping of energy and matter in many layers of transformation, where as the painting “Frost Tag” shows the whimsical flow of energy that connects us all to the Universe…
