Lexygius Calip

Lexygius “Lex” Sanchez Calip was born in Quezon City, Philippines in 1974. He is an inter-disciplinary artist who studied Fine Arts at the Technological University of the Philippines. Lex participated in several solo exhibitions in Manila and took part with numerous group exhibitions around the Philippines and abroad. He is a Freeman Fellowship Foundation Fellow for the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT; an artist in resident at The Stonehouse Residency for the Contemporary Art in California; a Thirteen Artist Awards Nominee at the Cultural Center of the Philippines; the Ateneo Art Awards at the Ateneo Museum of Modern Art; and had merits from the Arts Association of the Philippines and The Philip Morris Asean Art Awards. Lex has held art workshops and lectures at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and Art Institutions and Universities in the Philippines and the United States. He currently exhibits and works in both countries and maintains a studio at Hunters Point Studios in San Francisco CA, and Binan Laguna, Philippines.
