Roberto Romo-Lopez

Roberto Romo-Lopez is an Illustrator, Art Director, and Art Instructor serving the community in San Jose, California. He attended Evergreen Valley College earning his AS in Art and Design and finalizing his studies at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco earning a BFA in traditional Illustration in 2010.

Roberto is a freelance artist who works for different publications and he is also the art director at El Observador newspaper, a local bilingual weekly publication that serves the Hispanic community in the San Jose area. He has been active in numerous art exhibits in the bay area.

Roberto has more than 3 years of field experience, and always engages the community to produce a dynamic and vibrant experience through his art. Teaching and mentoring others with the knowledge he has acquired over the years is very important to him. This led him to become an art instructor at the School of Arts and Culture where he teaches a TLACUILO class focused on the Aztec CODEX. One project he is currently working on is a 13 painting series focused on Mexico’s history, as well as remaking the Mexican Loteria game.
