“Art is about catharsis and movement.” – M.A. Gerhardt<\/em><\/p>\n

Creating art is very therapeutic for Mary Ann Gerhardt. It is a form of meditation to her where she gets many benefits from simply the physical movement it takes to create one of her pieces. The movement is healing for her\u2026the movement of laying down the pastel strokes, the brushes of paint on an acrylic, brushing down the matte glue for a collage, or in this case capturing moments with her camera. When Mary Ann completes the process, something of beauty results from it\u2026 something that evokes emotion. She hopes to evoke a feeling of tranquility and peace when people view her artwork.<\/p>\n
