<\/a>PRESS RELEASE<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\nFoundry Commons<\/em>, Bloc5 and Paolo Mejia Fine Art and Design\u00a0<\/em> are pleased to present \u201cBeneath the Surface\u201d by FUSE artists’ Marian Tiemann and Trudy Levy this April. In this April duo art show, Marian and Trudy will explore their own work to see what is beneath the apparent.<\/p>\n Through the lens of the camera and using different mediums to paint and make collages, Marian opens up the concept of a brilliant world exposed. Many surface layers create abstract expressive landscapes and revealing stories not always apparent at a glance. When we focus on beauty in daily life,the ordinary becomes extraordinary.<\/span><\/p>\n Playing with tweaking visual perception, Trudy examines how color, texture and context influence perception. Currently, she is looking to and referencing Cubists, graphic artists and Les Nabis for direction, in her work revealing a painting under a painting.<\/p>\n BLOC5 is hosting this event at Foundry Commons Microgallery, 868 S. 5th St, San Jose.<\/p>\n \u201cBeneath the Surface’s\u201d opening night will be in April 6 with a reception from 6 to 8 pm.
